Pain in the body occurs as a warning sign that something is wrong; there is an imbalance that needs to be addressed.
Joint, nerve or muscle pain often occurs as a result of habitual poor posture or compensations for a previous injury to an area distant from the symptomatic one.
For example, if you have a forward head posture or had a car accident years ago causing whiplash to your neck, your neck may retain restrictions that your body is compensating for. This leads to misalignment and wrong patterns of movement that affect the entire body.
The way to relieve pain long-term is to free up the original restrictions and correct the alignment, so that forces in the body are balanced.
